TOPIC: The Wind under our Wings
Guest speaker: Dr Timothy Hawkes OAM
A one hour Q N A session between our special guest Dr Timothy Hawkes OAM and EAs in Education advocate Dr Steven Middleton. Entitled, the “Wind under our Wings” this lively and entertaining conversation will draw upon Dr Hawkes’ experience and expertise as a Principal of over 30 years and a lifetime of educational leadership and service. A lively and entertaining presenter with expansive experience on the ABC, Channel 7 and numerous print publications as well as the author of many books, Dr Hawkes is especially passionate about the development of leadership capacity in young people and by extension those teachers and professionals engaged in the vital work within schools.
In what promises to be an engaging Podcast style session, with opportunities for Q N A from our network, Dr Hawkes will draw on his experiences working with several high performing Executive Assistants in his role as Principal/Headmaster of two of Australia’s leading (and high profile) independent schools. His perspectives on how EA’s can develop their leadership capacity through a commitment to developing their innate desire as “service leaders” seeking to enrich the experience of students and colleagues through their commitment to listening, caring and empathy is a certainty to be both fascinating and humorous.
