One Calendar Entry at a Time

Sometimes, as an EA, it feels like my day is nothing but calendars - moving meetings, rescheduling appointments, protecting small blocks of time.

It could be easy to think it’s just administration.

But I’ve come to realise it’s much more than that.

And so my question today is -have you ever thought about calendar entry from this perspective?

📅 When I create space in my Associate Principal’s day, I’m not just blocking out time, I’m protecting the chance for reflection and strategy.

📅 When I schedule meetings, I’m supporting communication and alignment across the school.

📅 When I plan events, I’m weaving together the threads of connection that make our community thrive.

Each diary entry might look small on its own, but together they’re the building blocks of something bigger - the culture, the vision, the castle that is our school.

And that’s the hidden magic of being an EA in Education: We’re building castles, one calendar entry at a time.

💡This is something we explored together at the 2025 National Gathering - a reminder that the work we do, though often unseen, creates lasting impact across our schools and communities.
